The UNDRR has warned about the dangers of climate change and potential 2.8-degree temperature rise, which could lead to catastrophic events such as floods, wildfires, heatwaves, and droughts. The organisation has called for urgent action to reduce emissions, accelerate adaptation and disaster risk reduction, and commit to #ZeroClimateDisasters by 2030. The UNDRR has also highlighted the opportunity for synergies by aligning the global stocktake of the Paris Agreement and the midterm review of the Sendai Framework to promote integrated planning and implementation of climate and disaster risk management. The call to action also outlines the key elements for achieving #ZeroClimateDisasters: data availability, comprehensive risk management, financing for resilience, local and urban action, and inclusive participation.
