Oliver Dowden, UK Deputy Prime Minister, has chaired the inaugural meeting of the economic security public-private forum hosted at the Cabinet Office. Senior officials from the National Protective Security Authority, a recently formed branch of the MI5 security service, briefed executives with the latest declassified intelligence as part of the government’s new commitment to enhance national resilience with economic security. This is regarded as a critical part of national security, and the forum intends to increase transparency and facilitate cooperation with business stakeholders regarding threats to national security.
