Following the December 2024 publication of the National Audit Office (NAO) report on Government Resilience: extreme weather. The UK Parliament Public Accounts Committee has launched an Inquiry into government resilience to extreme weather, based on the findings of the NAO report, to consider the government’s current vision and the extent to which roles and responsibilities are well defined to manage national risks, and generic response capabilities. A call for evidence has been launched, and the Inquiry will accept written evidence on these matters until the 7th February 2024. Oral evidence from the Cabinet Office Resilience Directorate and COBR directors will be given on the 21st February 2024.
