The European Commission has published its Report from the Commission to the European Parliament and the Council on the implementation of Article 6 of the Union Civil Protection Mechanism: Preventing and managing disaster risk in Europe. The report set out the requirements for disaster risk management in the EU, an overview of the current risk landscape across Europe. It also includes a synthesis of the main limitations, barriers and good practices in areas such as: risk assessment, risk governance, monitoring and reporting, cross-border working arrangements, public awareness and alerts, capabilities, financing, and mainstreaming DRR into broader policy, to achieve cross-sectoral risk management to deliver whole-of-society resilience.
