The government has announced a new contract for Skynet, the Ministry of Defence’s military satellite communications system.

Skynet operations provide critical information to UK and allied forces worldwide, ensuring a strategic advantage on the battlefield at all times.

This initiative aligns with the Prime Minister’s priority to stimulate economic growth by creating well-paid jobs and opportunities across the country. The contract is expected to support approximately 400 UK jobs in Corsham, Bristol, and Plymouth, including engineers, scientists, space technicians, and administrative staff.

This investment in preparedness will ensure that our deployed forces have world-class communication capabilities, whether on the battlefield, at sea, or in the air.
