The National Cyber Security Centre has released its seventh annual review, covering September 2022 and August 2023. The NCSC, a part of The Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), aims to make the UK the safest place to live and work online. The report outlines its priorities for the coming year, which include improving cyber resilience, retaining the UK’s edge in cybersecurity, and evolving as the national technical authority. The report also highlights the UK’s main cyber threats and risks, such as cybercrime, ransomware, fraud, and AI. It showcases the NCSC’s services and interventions to enhance cyber resilience across government, public and private sectors, and citizens. Finally, the report emphasises the NCSC’s role in fostering a diverse cybersecurity ecosystem in the UK, supporting the industry, research and innovation, education and skills sector, and promoting international cooperation.
