National Cyber Force, has published ‘Responsible Cyber Power in Practice’ – a glimpse inside the NCF and its work to protect the UK and its allies from harm.

The UK’s National Cyber Force (NCF) was established in 2020 to counter and contest those who would do harm to the UK or its allies. The UK and its allies have a wide range of levers available to tackle serious security threats, including those that are dependent on, or enabled by, cyber capabilities.

Depending on the context, these can involve measures such as cyber resilience, law enforcement action, sanctions, diplomatic intervention, and military activity including, where necessary, the use of force. A drawing on a mix of operational, intelligence and security experience, the NCF provides the UK with a diversity of perspectives and thinking that inform the selection of responses to serious threats from states and other hostile actors.
