The UK Parliament Science and Technology Committee has initiated an inquiry to assess the cyber resilience of the country’s critical national infrastructure (CNI), covering areas such as energy, telecommunications, and finance. The objective of this inquiry is to evaluate measures for strengthening the security of the computer systems that support CNI, to determine if the UK is on track to meet the targets set for resilience by 2025; and scrutinise the government’s approach to supply chain access, trusted partners, and cyber resilience and readiness standards and regulations. Additionally, the inquiry will examine the effectiveness of the government’s National Cyber Strategy 2022 and Government Cyber Security Strategy 2022-30 concerning CNI for the digital economy. The Call for Evidence is open until 10th November 2023.
