The House of Commons Committee of Public Accounts, special report on the defence digital strategy, has said the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has to fundamentally change the way it operates to push through the digital change it wants to achieve.

The report makes 6 key recommendations to Government, focused on improving digital transformation, tracking performance, improving recruitment, delivering major digital programs, ensuring adequate funding, and measuring progress in creating a digital ‘backbone’.

Overall the report highlights additional key issues, such as; a lack of delivery plan to implement the MODs digital strategy, issues relating to the replacement and upgrading of legacy systems, digital skills gaps, funding and budget constraints.
