Organisations such as the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the United Nations, the World Bank, Start Network, and edX offer free online training courses in topics such as disaster risk financing, nature-based solutions, early warning and early action, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation and resilience.

The Global Disaster Preparedness Center (GDPC) has compiled a list of these free online courses designed for disaster management and humanitarian professionals, making them easily accessible for those looking to expand their expertise in disaster preparedness and risk reduction.

The United Nations Institute for Training and Research has also launched a free online course titled “Resilience of Local Governments: A Multi-sectoral Approach to Integrate Public Health and Disaster Risk Management.” This three-week, self-paced course will run from 1 February 2024 to 31 December 2025.
