A £50m scheme to protect thousands of homes from flooding by the autumn has been pulled by the Environment Agency.
The Environment Agency said it had not received enough competent tenders for the scheme to provide value for money. Partners are now calling for money to be devolved to local areas to bolster local flood mitigation.
