The UK and Irish Governments have announced a new joint £60 million funding initiative to facilitate an innovative collaboration to establish two new research centres on food sustainability and climate change. This initiative aims to encourage partnership between academia, policy and industry across the UK and Ireland for the next six years.  The new research Co-Centres will commence activities in January 2024. The Co-Centre for Climate, Biodiversity and Water will focus on the net zero transition, biodiversity, water quality, resilient communities and economic sustainability. The Co-Centre for Sustainable and Resilient Food Systems will focus on challenges relating to data modelling, food system resilience, sustainable diets and food safety alongside nutrition and health.
