United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and United Nations University – Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) have published a new toolkit on nature-based solutions for comprehensive disaster and climate risk management (CRM-NbS Toolkit). This toolkit is designed to help countries incorporate nature-based solutions (NbS) into their disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change adaptation (CCA) planning. The approach aligns with Target E of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, aiming to increase the number of countries with national and local disaster risk reduction strategies. The toolkit focuses on ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) and disaster risk reduction (Eco-DRR) to promote policy coherence and integrated plans addressing social, economic and environmental challenges through increased resilience and biodiversity.
